Visual Data
Tables, Charts, and Graphs use statistical graphics to explore the character of the Greater Boston region. This section provides data about economic, social, and political issues, from local attitudes on residential segregation to Census 2000 results in each Boston neighborhood. Maps help orient people to the relationships between the different "layers" of the region: streets, utilities, transit, buildings (by type), zoning, current land use, parks and natural spaces. These maps will provide important tools for people trying to develop visions and plans for the communities. Photographs and renderings capture the visual extremes that make cities exciting places. Photographs capture life on the region's streets while renderings showcase the visions of local architects - the future of our region's streets. The Boston Renaissance Resource Kit is an exciting project aimed at giving students and community groups extensive social science data about the region. The Resource Kit is comprised of the data from the Greater Boston Social Survey (published in book form in The Boston Renaissance: Race, Space, and Economic Change in an American Metropolis). | ||||||||||||||||||||||
