www.curp.neu.edu is more than an institutional web page; it is also a bi-weekly urban policy and planning magazine. By providing thoughtful commentary, portraits of important policy issues, and other features, www.curp.neu.edu helps to orient scholars, community activists, policymakers, and others to a wide range of issues and events in Greater Boston and beyond. The CURP Web site begins with the Spotlight, an exploration of various urban policy issues in the Greater Boston area. These stories give readers insight into the mechanics of urban policy in the area and glimpses into policy that is working - and policy that is not - in communities across the region. In the This Week at CURP feature, readers are updated on happenings at CURP, including the latest project updates, publication announcements, and interviews with the CURP staff. The CURP Roundtable provides a transcript of a web-based question-and-answer discussion on the major urban policy and planning issues facing the region. Every two weeks, the members of CURP's e-mail list receive a question about a major urban issue; their responses are then published for all to read. In The Column, CURP staff and associates provide running, diverse commentary on a variety of policy issues. The Calendar offers up-to-date listings of major events regarding urban policy and planning throughout Greater Boston... from lectures to conferences to workshops. Staff Picks provides readers of the CURP Web site with reviews of the best current and classic readings on urban policy and planning issues. In Print, meanwhile, provides links to the best current writing on urban policy in magazines, newspapers and web publications. |
